I’ve had the opportunity to speak with a few pharmacy students recently.
Our discussion led to the topic of Collaborative Drug Therapy Management in Colorado. For the State Board of Pharmacy rules promulgation was a relatively new topic emerging in 2004 for Colorado Pharmacists
I explained to the students that pharmacists began work on this issue in 1987 approaching the state Attorney General and legislature, shortly after I became actively involved with it in 1985. During the 1995-1996 legislative session, language to support CDTM was added to the pharmacy practice act during the Sunset Review process.
